V20 observations

Hi,

Just some observations on the V20 app after upgrading from a much older app:

• Ringer option missing (as per top image): I can no longer hear my phone ringing as I am on a wired headset and the speaker and mic are set to that. This is a pretty annoying change. It's fine if I'm looking at the screen and see the pop-up but otherwise I may miss calls.
• V20 client stays on top. At least have this as optional. My preferred option is to have the phone open on my screen but not necessarily in front of everything else. I have it in a corner and semi-behind other windows but it just stays in front of them now.
• What is the left arrow up the top left for? (as per bottom image) Apparently it does nothing but intuitively it should be a back button? I find myself clicking it all the time...!

@academy thanks for your feedback.

1. Seperate ringer device selection will be coming in a future release of the softphone.

2. We have a Keep on Top functionality in our app. This can be found in the Dialer at the top right corner. Perhaps this is why the window is present always on top of other windows. Please confirm

3. The back button is used in situations to back out of certain screens. For example when you open a contact card. This button will become more useful for other features as we add them.

I did click that top right button (as an IT guy I naturally click any unknown button...) but it did not do anything obvious other than to move my 3CX window. It needs a tool tip ideally. This was before I realised it stayed on top so I didn't think to try that when looking into that issue. The icon looks more like a 'pop-out' button to me (I was kind of expecting the dialler to pop out into its own window or something) but to be fair I have no idea of what always on top icon would look like.

For me the biggest issue is, that there is no mac app anymore... this is a very very big deal for us and our clients.

Its a show stopper to be honest.. we are looking for alternatives right now. The Chrome app is not really an alternative..

Mac is business and enterprise is growing crazy and 3cx is deciding to drop the app...

@nextx42 I believe you may still use the dmg file from v18. then you just provision the app.

i have also some question about the V20 Windows App, just forwared from our customers that have 3CX as pbx:

• Missing function for (at current the webbrowser gets open) :
  • Chat
  • configure extension status
  • Konferenz
• Not possible to choose from which device the call have to start
• Window of the softphone is fix. It is not changeable
• The dialer cannot be in separate window (i couldnt find it)
• The overview active calls is missing
• In Call history where are outgoing/ingoing/missing calls is missing.

So is it on the roadmap that the ringtone can be also another?

I think all of these have come up. The Store app is intended to be a dialer, not a full client. Doesn’t seem like that’s going to change.

Ok shall the user have to use 2 programms, one for telefony and the webbrowser for livechat? That is not really usefull or makes any sense. At current in V18 we have all these things together also
