I have a 3Cx that was version 18 with voxtel sip trunks set up with no authentication ip based. I upgraded this system to version 20 and the trunks work fine, no authentication set up. i set up another system as version 20. it will not let me set up voxtel sip trunks without authentication. All my sip trunks connect to a ribbon SBC. It connects to the sip trunk provider LUMEN. How do i get the voxtel trunks set up ipbased no authentication in version 20

Please note that unsupported voip providers must be configured with the generic voip provider template, if you need to do extra changes in the sip trunk, you need to export it, edit the file with notepad++ and then import it from the advanced menu ---- templates --- voip provider.

We advise you to use supported sip trunks which has been tested with the product, these have a template that will work out of the box and are easy to set up.

If further assistance is needed with the unsupported sip trunk you will need to contact them since these are out of support.

Have a good day!

Thanks for the reply.
my v18 system that i upgraded to V20 has the sip trunks that are connected to my SBC set up as Voxtel template but ip based no authentication. it kept the ip base setting from v18 after the upgrade. I can't set up a new system with version 20 the same way. My sip trunks don't really connect to a sip VOIP provider. they connect to a Ribbon SBC which connects to a LUMEN for sip trunks. there are about 20 other sip phone systems 6 that are 3CX using the lumen sip trunks already. They are working perfectly set to ip base no authentication.

i used the generic voip template and it is working all though i got a red ! next to my trunks on the Dashboard since i used the default template.

Hi Alejandro,
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I posted a similar concern 10 weeks ago. I have the same issue despite the fact that I am using a supported provider (Flowroute). https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...ields-but-i-want-to-use-ip-based-auth.128733/ What do I need to do in order to get that concern addressed? Even after installing update 3 earlier today the problem persists. I am still unable to add a Flowroute trunk using IP-based authentication. Last I knew, IP Auth was preferred/recommended over SIP credentials. Has that changed?
Thanks,
Marc

the default ip based no authentication template at the bottom works. it has all the appropriate fields to get the sip trunks working at least for my set up. it is weird how sip trunks built on v18 and upgraded to v20 look. they are ip based no auth, there is no password or sip username and the template isn't right but the trunks still work. adding any new v20 supported trunks make you use the new template which doesn't allow ip based no auth.
