I have a brand new self hosted system running U6 build 908. I have updated the firmware on the phone and factory reset. I have also deleted the phone and re added as a router phone but the system will never send RPS command to it. On a factory reset the phone prompts for a language then just goes to the normal phone screen. Never does it prompt for a user or pass like I'm used to with Yealink. If i take the phone and install on a network with existing SBC then it is seen and provisions correctly. I have tested this identical set up with a yealink t54w and it works flawlessly so i think this is going to be a fanvil issue. The customer really liked the fanvil over the yealink which is why we are using it but cannot for the life of me get the fanvil to work.

Hi @mgroom

Please tell us the exact firmware version the phone is running now, and whether you tried to factory reset it after you had configured everything in 3CX.

@JohnS_3CX
I am currently using 2.12.15.6
Yes i have factory reset several times after I configured the phone in 3cx. Every time i do i get the select language screen and i hit ok then nothing happens. I even left it up over night and no configurator on the phones side. I also tried to download the sbc log but i get an error when i try that says "couldn't download network issue" even though i am on the same subnet as the phone and currently logged into the web gui.

To add a little info after reading some other posts having similar issues with the V series fanvils. I am not using wifi at all and the Mac has been double checked several times. I have also tried 3 separate phones to no avail. And the phones are not blacklisted.

I checked the MAC in the screenshot and the RPS entry exists. (removed screenshot for privacy)

However, if the phone never asks for credentials, it means it did not contact the RPS server of Fanvil and/or your PBX.

The phone will "fail" to contact your PBX under certain conditions like some of the following:

- DNS issues
- DHCP or DHCP Options issues
- ARP issues
- NTP issues

So basically this means the phone cannot reach the point where it goes to download its config, before some other conditions are first met. If you can mirror a port on your switch and capture the phone from startup, you might find something interesting there.

I will try and do this but I don't see it being a network issue when a t54 works just fine from the same network.

I think only a mirrored port capture will fully reveal what happens. The T54 and the V65 are different manufacturer devices so we cant assume they will behave exactly the same, and we really need to see what the phone does upon startup from a factory reset state to be fair.
