Video Communication

Hi all.
Please advise on how video communication can be achieved on 3cx for the below scenarios using Grandstream GXV3250 or equivalent Android Desk Phone:
1. Internal extension to extension calls (GXV3250 being used for both parties)
2. Internal (GXV3250) to external party (unknown device) calls (What kind of PSTN/ Telco is required)

Regarding 3CX, just know that when it comes to video, 3CX only allows for the media Traffic to passthrough, meaning that handling is done by the end devices. That said, if both devices/endpoints use the same video codec, in theory it should work.

To achieve a point to point video call from GXV3250 internal and an external party:
1. What device/ application must the third party have?
2. What kind of PSTN/ Trunk is required.

You need a SIP trunk that supports H264. No PSTN do.

For the third-party, they need an app or phone that supports VoIP as well. A business will probably have a softphone app or similar that can work. For a residential 3rd-party, unless you give them a softphone extension, it won't work.

If you need video communications with 3rd-parties, use WebMeeting. The app can be installed on a GXV33xx. (If you have a 32xx, trash it, it will not work with anything recent.)
