Currently we are using 3CX Enterprise license -> Web Conferencing support (incl. Polls, PDF-Share, Screen Share, Remote Assist & Record): 250 Seats

But when we use the WebMeetings App, it is only for a maximum of 8 participants.

So what is the limit of the number of participants?

You can have 250 users in a room with 8 of them having their webcam enabled. Everyone can have their audio enabled. Everyone can see the users using their Webcams.

The max webcam limit on most zones (US, EU) is 25, on some others it's 20 and on very few zones it's ~12 due to bandwidth limits from providers in those zones as well as other technical limitations. The above 8 max cam limit is not correct and is something i've gone ahead and corrected it.

Max Enabled Webcams: There's good reasons for these limits. Here's an example on why they exist.
  • Room with 100 participants all with video enabled.
  • Each participant uploads 1Mbit to our servers (1Mbit x 100 users = 100Mbit)
  • The server needs to send each participant a total of 100 x 1Mbit streams to EACH user
For the above 1 meeting, 10Gigabits of bandwidth per second is required on our side and for each user to be able to download 100Mbits. There's no commercially provided server provided anywhere in the world that can handle the processing required for such scenarios.

The 25 max webcam limit is already very generous for the free service WebMeeting provides.

@LeonidasG I understand the limits for the free version but the OP stated that they are using the enterprise version of 3CX. Zoom can have up to 49 in a single screen. I am fine with 25 max I just want to confirm that number for US users.

So, yes, 25 feeds is the limit in the US.

Free vs paid has nothing to do with the number of video feeds, only the number of participants. Yes Zoom as more, for more money

I used MCU Server:
Server info:Singapore #1 - as012-sgp.3cx.net (13.250.89.194) - SG Singapore Singapore - Version: 10.5.10.26204/Linux

And this MCU Server also has another related error that I sent a question on the forum: Error "Sessionid not found" in Upload file feature

Hi LeonidasG,
Are there any 3CX documents talking about this limitation?
