Video Door Phone to Ring Group fails when Video Preview is enabled

I have set a Video Door Phone (Fanvil i62) to dial a "Ring Group" ext, but only one extension rings when the "Video Preview" option is enabled on some of the phones that offers "Preview" (Fanvil X7A, X7C).
Actually all exts of the "Ring Group" do ring for a second and then all cut except for one that keeps on ringing and shows the video Preview.



I have found what is causing this problem but don't know how to correct it. At least not to achieve the result I'm looking for...



If I disable the "Preview" option from those phones, then all exts from the "Ring Group" do ring properly. But I don't get the Video "Preview"...

Has anyone succeeded to achieve this?

Hi,

If you want to use the preview feature (which isn't something we explicitly support or test for) you can do so but you will have to limit the calls to a single extension.

This is because the preview feature basically answers the call (behind the scenes) and then the phone plays a "fake" progress tone to the person at the door, until the person watching the preview decides whether they want to answer or not. It's a bit of trickery

As you probably understand by now, once the call is answered by one ring group member, it's no longer possible to keep ringing others.

In short, this won't be doable because of the way the preview feature of the phone works.

This is unfortunate that Fanvil did not find another way to offer "Preview", because this is a Great Feature in essence.
