Hello people.
I need your suggestions please on this matter I am facing.
I've been using Elastix a lot during the last 2 years. I have installed succefully several physical servers either locally or via SSH to remote locations. What I have never done is to install Elastix on Virtual Machines.
What I want to do is to consolidate hardware and hence rent a server on a datacenter in order to run a few Elastix instances with NO dahdi hardware (SIP based only).
I am not sure where to start and I don't know which virtualization solution is best for this kind of setup (a free non-paid VM solution).
What are your suggestions?
The server I am thinking of renting is using AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+, 4GB DDR2 RAM and 2x 400 GB SATA HDDs (on soft RAID 1). According to the hosting company the system supports AMD-V virtualization.
My questions basically are:
a) Which virtualization solution would you go for?
b) Is the installation possible remotely via SSH?
c) Are you aware of a how-to guide anywhere on the net that can help me to do the install?
d) Are there any known downsides to this solution?
I am aware that there is an issue with dadhi drivers. Considering that I only require it for meetme, will it still be ok?
Thank you,
N
