3CX Version: 18 update 2
Server OS: Linux, hosted by 3CX

I am able to successfully customize most email messages for system events. But, when I change the template for "VoiceMail", it always uses the default template.

I tried to "dumb it down" in the event I had an error in my template, so I set it to just send a "hello world" text message. It still sent me the default message. I tried changing the "from (display name)" value, and that also had no effect.

Any suggestions, or does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Try this:

1. Make the desired changed to the Voicemail email template.
2. Go to "Dashboard >> Services >> Select the 3CX System Service and restart it"
3. Try sending the email again.

Unfortunately, that had no effect -- it still used the default template.

It did pick up the new "hello world" template BODY after I rebooted the instance, but not the FROM (DISPLAY NAME).

When I then changed it to my actual desired custom template, it was still sending the "hello world" template. Another full reboot was required before it picked up the edited BODY. The FROM (DISPLAY NAME) is still the default (just showing the email address).

It seems this is a bug. How do I log it with 3CX?

Hi!

Regarding the "From Display Name", you are right, this is an issue in V18 U2 but it has already been reported and fixed for V18 Update 3.

We don't have an ETA at the moment, but once it's out you should be able to set it and it will work.

Also there is an improvement regarding the body which will not require a restart of services.

I will set this to 'Solved' as it has been addressed in the next upcoming update.
Let us know if anything else comes up!
