I spent hours trying to configure inbound calls. I finally gave up. All calls will end up going to a Voicemail because the users are not registered and the only way to register a user is to download the mobile or desktop application. So if you want to use a browser this ain't for you? I couldn't find this information listed anywhere. Unless I am mistaken, you can not use 3cx on a browser without a download of some sort. Now you know. This information would've saved me hours of work. You would think the extension would register once you set up the email password. Why force a download when your aren't using it?

The bell icon in the sidebar of the Webclient. Gotta allow notifications.

No need to download anything.

Hi tonyinthebiz - Can you briefly describe what is your desired 'use case' for how you wish things to behave? I am not quite clear.
- what version of 3cx are you working with?
- you want to have PBX with (bunch of users) and callers have a way to phone in and talk to people
- if you configure cell# and 'ring cell concurrently' for a given EXT# then inbound calls to their 3cx_EXT will cause their cellular phone# to ring for example, is one way to have people 'available' to take an inbound call even if they have no active softphone/deskphone to accept the call.
- and as other person in the thread mentions, the web.app can be used with 3cx <> modern web browser (Chrome, Edge) and more or less it 'just works' (ie, "HTML 5 webapp-no download needed")- the user has the 3cx web page open / they are signed in to their EXT# / so they are 'available' to take calls / they may use the webapp to place outbound or accept inbound calling. Optionally they may choose to install the PWA app to make the web-app feel more like a 'so-called-real-local-app' on the device/laptop/etc. And of course there is a nice softphone app available if they have smartphones.

ie, there are a range of options available, so I don't quite see how this is bad. Unless I misunderstand your desired use case / situation (which maybe is the case?)
