When I call FROM web client to an external number (through my trunk) the webclient uses OPUS Codec.

Because it's going through a trunk to a real phone number it needs to be in U-Law or A-Law which means transcoding happens on my trunk resulting in significant quality loss
When I call the webclient from my external number it correctly uses the PCMU/A codec and is much higher quality.
Is there any way to stop dialing out from the webclient from using OPUS? It makes it impossible to use the webclient. I'm sure everyone must be having this issue?
I'm happy to even deploy my own chrome extension to do this if anyone has an idea.
Calling from the windows application works fine.

I've raised a support ticket on this but I feel it hasn't got an answer and this is sadly just how the webclient is =(

Thanks @SteveITS this is exactly my issue, OPUS is the priority but it SHOULDN'T be because it causes transcoding and quality loss. I'll reply there as well, it's really frustrating =(
