Hello,

Suddenly when our users want to create a webmeeting, they use the DirectMail option, the email is never sent.

I know our email notifications for our server work, the custom smtp setting is configured and sending emails corretly but am i wrong to assume DirectMail is sent from 3CX directly? Why wouldn't it work? MY anti-spam doesn't see the incoming email at all

Hi @pitrickzul

If you are using a custom SMTP (and direct mail option), check the "Sent" folder of the account you used in the custom SMTP.

You can always switch back to non-custom SMTP and retry (for comparison)

Hi,

Theres nothing relating to webmeeting invites. All the voicemails and alerts in there (people receive them as well) but nothing from webmeeting.

When i change it to 3CX SMTP, the invites don't send either.

V16 SP5 (was the same in SP4, i upgraded over the weekend hoping it would fix)

So just make it clear, is this what the user does?

  • Schedule a meeting (select type, time etc)
  • Select 3CX (Direct eMail)
  • Enter emails one by one using the + button
  • Press Create Meeting when done

Correct, however, most of the times, we don't add anyone because we take the pre-generated email and resend it via outlook so we can reschedule or add attendees.

Now, just to add, we migrated to O365 and i would really just tell everyone to use O365 as a email choice but when we select O365, the generated email's format is completely erased, line breaks included. I tried with a HTML template and a simple text format, they both get reformatted into 1 huge paragraph...

The meeting recipients will get a different Join link than the one the meeting owner creates, so this is not a good idea to give them that link. If you notice the link in your webclient VS the one that the participants receive you should see it as being different (including when you select O365). iCal can overcome the formatting issue, but we will address O365 in the future.

I find it a bit strange that setting your PBX back to 3CX SMTP will not send out the emails though. I would recommend to set it back that way, and restart all your services and then retry. Send the invite to an existing email address, ie one that receives 3CX notification emails already.

Ok, for some odd reason, everything started working again...didn't restart anything..i hate this, i need to know why!!! lol

On a side note, have you heard of Offce365 reformatting the webmeeting template to break all format including line breaks, even in a text format? We would gladly use O365 instead..also, the time of the meeting is incorrect when copied over to O365

This issue started a few weeks ago, our workaround is to use the "ical" method as the template it generates does not suffer from these issues.

Heads up, the default is to mark your calender as "free" so you will need to change this manually when creating a meeting in outlook :)

(I am making the assumption you have the outlook client)

yes that infact did the trick!

So it's safe to guess this issue (email formatting) is also a bug that's affecting all those using O365?
