Hi,

I have the problem that our Welltech ATA172 Plus doesn't let an analog station terminate calls automatically if the call is hang up on the voip side. At first you hear a "call disconnected" tone, but after a 30 seconds it becomes a fast beeping sound, more like an "alarm" tone. The expected behaviour is that the analog station detects the hang up and terminates the connection.

Sending DTMF tones and voice calling itself is no problem. The main problem is our door intercom that produces the alarming sound + becomes unavailable for a couple of minutes because the connection isn't terminated and the station can't be reached anymore.

Anyone had similar problems?

Is this device on-premise or hosted (in regards to the 3CX System) across SBC or STUN for example.

Can you log on this device and see if you can see a LOOP BREAK sent from the ATA.

Some devices support settings called "call current drop" or "battery reversal" in some gateway products to assist with this but it is normally FXO units (and fully blow gateway products).

ATA's are normally limited on options.

The ATA is located in the same LAN. It seems there are no options to choose between current drop, polarity reversal, tone or DTMF based disconnection.

Current drop should be supported, according to the two following configuration parameters:

CPC Delay

Default is 2 seconds. Delay how many seconds to send CPC signal (Loop Current Drop signal) to Analog telephone set when ATA received drop call signal from IP SIP command. Only numbers are accepted, data range is (2~5 seconds), maximum data length is 1 digit.

CPC Duration
Default is 120ms. Setting CPC feature was activated duration (Loop Current Drop duration), data range is (0~120ms), maximum length: 3 digits.

A possibility that 3CX is not sending the correct SIP data to terminate the call?

I would doubt this, however you may wish to trace and see if you can see this behavior occurring.

Run a mirror port off of your switch, and trace to a laptop attached and you should be able to see the output.

Again I think it would be down to a lack of features on the ATA, we used to get similar types of issues with the Patton MATA and an upgrade to gateway solved a lot of issues.

Thanks for the info, we will investigate it further.
If needed, we will switch to a Patton SmartNode 4110.

I think the Patton would definitely give you more features - FYI you would need the 4112 JS FXS model.
