What happens to the v16 license when you upgrade to v18? Can I revert to original v16 server if there are any issues?

If I clone my server then perform the V18 upgrade but find I have issues with things like custom CRM's or CFD and need to revert to original server will the license still work for V16?

Yes, you can you have 30 days grace to downgrade

You will need to contact support to have them convert it back to v16 as you wont be able to activate v16 once it's upgraded to v18 without the downgrade.

@kieferschild the answer from @Saqqara is the correct one. When you upgrade from v16 to v18 you have 30 days to go back down without any intervention from 3CX.

It goes without saying of course that should you bring the v16 instance back up you should shutdown the v18 instance first and keep it off.
