Not sure what level of SSL cert I need, which level is needed for MS Teams integration?

Basic SSL, not wildcard.

Make sure to put the intermediate and root certs in it as well.

This is a potentially fairly large change - will it be removed completely or not developed further?

Yes it is. Teams is building out telephony features, you can now get SIP trunking directly in most countries so we dont see it worth the support and development effort.

Also teams tends to make a lot of changes so its a difficult solution to support and maintain. Already attended transfer is not supported anymore after teams removed support for it.

It will remain as is in v18. But if Teams changes things for example we will not go in and fix it.

Very few teams integrations have been sold in the past 6 months.

O this is a real shame, we are starting to get a lot of interest in this feature.

Thank you so much for the straightforward candor and explanation. As a 3cx and Office365/Azure administrator, our organization loves the integration. However, I understand the difficulty of continued development to keep up with changes by the Microsoft Development team. Thank you for the continued development of 3CX and the work of you and your team. The product has continued to advance and improve over time, and I greatly appreciate how transparent the 3CX team has been in laying out roadmaps and development plans. We will keep using the Teams integration until Microsoft breaks it.
