Hello all,

I wasn't sure which forum to post this on. I have a question about using the windows app with Yealink phones. We are in the process of configuring the version 20 3cx app that will go in the cloud. We have t48G phones, and I was wondering if there is a way to dial a number on the windows app and have the desk phone pick up the call? Previously on the windows soft client (not through the Microsoft Store) you could switch between having the soft client make the call or the desk phone make the call? We will have users in the future that will have the windows app installed on their computer but when they come into the office they will want to make calls out through their desk phone. I have dug through the settings on both the windows app and in v20 3cx settings and havent found any option for this.

The Store app is intended as a phone so doesn't have that ability. The web client does and can be set to call using the Store app or phone.

That's very cool that the web client works with the phones. Any idea if the Store app will have that functionality too?

If we have an app that uses TAPI, do you know what options we have in dialing out? We were hoping that if a user presses the "Dial" button on their PC, their physical phone would become active/live.

The store app has TAPI support.

I know, you don't want to have both store and webclient. Perhaps CSTA support will be added to the Store app. Otherwise, the old Electron app has both CSTA and TAPI support, but it's going away.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, the TAPI does work nicely with the Store App, but our users were confused when the PC dialed out and their phone stayed dark. Our users skew older so it's not the easiest thing to "teach them new tricks". Hoping a nice solution where everything worked similarly to before.

The Electron app is a nice option to have but if it's being phased out, I'm wary to roll out to users who may wonder in a few weeks/months why their phone/PC stopped working properly.
