Hello,

I'm trying to use alternative firmware for Yealink T3Xs, but I'd like to use the Management Console to upgrade phones. I've put the .rom in the /firmware_new/yealink folder and added the information to the firmwares.json file, but it's still not showing up as an alternative firmware in the Phones tab. Do I need to restart my PBX? Has anyone had success deploying alternative firmware through the Management Console?

Rebooting the PBX made the alternative firmware show up as available.

Hi David,

The alternative firmware function is currently only responsible to deploying Dutch Lydis firmware on Yealink phones (note the "188" vs the normal firmware).

It has not really been designed to allow you to provide your own firmware so that is why it was not appearing. The reason it worked in the end is because you modified the json file manually, but note we do not recommend doing so - it make break the firmware upgrade function and prevent you from getting legit firmware upgrades entirely.

If that happens, the you will need to empty the "firmware" and "firmware_new" folders, then restart your management console. The system will then show you all the 3CX firmware again and you can download it as needed.
