Yealink DECT Phones Crashes When Dialing Too Fast

I have a customer who uses the W56H handsets and has a strange request. They dial phone numbers so fast the the phone crashes. Is there any way to turn off the predictive number feature on the handsets so they can dial numbers faster. I know this is bizarre but I need to put it out there.

I have never encountered a "predictive number feature option", on a phone, (unlike predictive text, that compares input to a dictionary).I have seen some mobiles compare to an internal directory as you dial, but I have never dialled so fast that it has affected the phone, I'm not certain how that could be possible. The device can usually handle input faster than a person can move their fingers.

It is it just one user that is having issues? If it is, then it might be a considered incorect use of the phone, a "user" error, and they may have to change their dialling habits. I'm sure that Yealink did not intend the phone to fail when used as expected.

Have you tried eliminating the phones local directory?

It essentially tries to populate previous dialed numbers or phone book contacts while you type in the number you are calling. It's just the receptionist that is having the issue (but she can replicate it on any handset) because of how fast she types in numbers.

Then the set must be comparing to the phones directory, a feature that will normally work for most users. This is the first time I can recall hearing about this issue on the forum.

I looked over the user manual, and other than possibly removing numbers from the phones internal directory, I don't see any setting to disable that feature (although i may have missed it).

The user may have to slow down their input, in the way typists had to years ago, on manual typewriters. Even the QWERTY keyboard layout, wasn't enough to slow some of them down, to keep keys from jambing

I have checked using a contact list with about 1000 entries, but the phone will not crash on me while I type a number.

There is only a small delay while it scans through the list of contacts.

You can manually remove all the contacts from the base and see if this changes the behaviour in your case, as a test.
