We use the free version of 3CX since February and have six users each with a Yealink T54W desk phone. Each user has their own local contacts directory and most have uploaded a custom photo for each contact. After provisioning each phone for the initial set-up, we turned-off the auto-provisioning and deleted the provisioning URL on each phone using the phones' web-gui for each phone. We did this because the constant re-provisioning kept deleting the speed dial keys that individuals set up in their own phone, Although it didn't change the detail of the speed dial - name, number, extension etc it changed the buttom type from speed dial to N/A so the button no longer appeared on the phone's screen. If you just went back into the wen-gui and changes the type back to speed dial, the details disappeared and had to be manually re-entered. To test what would happen with the firmware update, we chose one phone with the fewest speed dials and fewest contacts and re-entered the provisioning URL into the relevant part of the phone's web-gui and ran the update from the 3CS admiin web interface. Sure enough, once again all the speedials disappeared (actually type changed to N/A again), the wallpaper revered back to the 3CX version rather than the custom wallpaper with our company' branding (saved locally) which it had been displaying before the updat and, although the local contact directory was still on the phone, the contact photo for each contact had reverted to the detault contact icon. The photos were still saved on the phone but each had to be reassociated with the relevant contact manually and individually. We had tried before to download the configuration, including contacts, before re-provisionng the phones but when you upload the configuration after the re-provisioning the photos are lost completely and have to be uploaded through the phone's web-gui one by one and reassociated with the relevant contact. A couple of our phones have EXP50 expansion modules with 60 or so speed dials linked to the corresponding contact in the directory, that took a long time for the ser to add add all the details and upload photos and it would be very frustrating to have to set-up the speed dial buttons and associate photos with each contact again. How can we upgrde the firmware without losing the manually set-up speed dials and having to re-program them and without the photos losing their association with a contact? Don't say a centralised directory. That wouldn't work for us as each user has their own unique set of contacts and there is very little overlap of contacts between users. If anyone can assist, it will save us from having to manually reprogram the remaining 5 phones, which is possible as there are only 5, but would still take time better spent on other things. One extra question - one of the phones is used a a router phone/SBC. Can anyone confirm that the firmware update won't stop it performing that function or all our phones will stop working.I want to be 100% sure before we attempt a firmware update on that phone. If you give any advice, remember we are a small business with no dedicated IT staff. I know what I am doing, usually, and set up the sytem without any problems but I am not an IT professional. so please keep the instructions as simple as possible. Thanks
