Yealink T33G Random Audio Issues

This is the video of the T33G locking up on dialing an external number,

This is not something that is generated from the PBX and has to be reported to Yealink.

Currently we cannot provide any ETA for the release of the firmware as this has to pass the tests first.
If there issue with the firmware this has to be sent back to vendor and then re-test.
I believe this is what we (those of us who have clients that encounter the same or similar issues) are trying to determine/confirm.

124.86.0.40 - current version on T33G devices
124.86.0.75 - on Yealink support website, released 11 Jan 2024; but does not specify any bug fixes, etc.

According to @lmichael in his earlier response, Yealink shared with him a (non-official) version of 124.86.0.159.

How often does this testing occur or how regularly does Yealink share firmware updates with 3CX for testing? And what are the determining factors for the firmware to pass these tests?

Hi guys,

Hopefully it won't be too long for us to retrieve a Diagnostic / Log file from one of the affected T33G devices that Yealink support requires. Our clients have been advised to reach out to us to retrieve this file when the issue occurs (before even rebooting the Phone).

I'd also highly recommend anyone else following this thread (that have 3CX provisioned phones on firmware version 124.86.0.40 - and experiencing similar audio or device issues with their client SIP-T33G's) to raise a ticket with Yealink. The more reports Yealink has of this, the better our chances of this being escalated quicker and a solution found sooner - of which can then be shared and tested with 3CX.

More updates from our side to follow soon.

To the firmware downgrade ability I received this from Yealink support. Also noted are some possible issues that have been resolved. What needs to happen to get newer firmware considered by 3CX? Its clear there have been many releases and bug fixes since version 124.86.0.40 and is now 124.86.0.159 per Yealink support.

1.For the downgrade of the firmware version, i have checked with our R&D and I have also made the local testing on my side

As you can see the firmware version can be upgraded normally, and also can downgrade normally

So you can upgrade the firmware version with confidence

And for the release note of the T33G, I have attached the release note that show the history rolling firmware version fix some similar question, please check

I upgraded all my t33gs last night, have you noticed a difference with the new firmware. @Imichael

@cdomenech

We have not upgraded any sets yet, we have multiple sites having the same issue. I am currently working to gather captures for Yealink to verify what the issue is. These sites have hundreds of phones so I am leery to start upgrading to a unsupported firmware and have other issues. I have to say we have many T33G's on multiple platforms and cloud systems and the only ones reporting this issue is 3CX systems so far. Let us know how is goes for you.

Still experiencing the same issue on t33g , but left a call on for about 2 hours yesterday it happened twice locking up, usually it would do it more then that, doing the same test Monday on a T46S, I think we are heading in the right direction.

Hi guys, just an update from our end - it took several days for a recurrence of the issue, but we have captured the required diagnostic information required by Yealink and submitted; however, due to their closure from 01 to 05 May 2024 (due to the observation of international labour day), we're anticipating to see some feedback in this regard by earliest, Monday 06 May 2024.

Will keep everyone posted with the feedback.

Second x2 occurrences within a space of 24 hours at the same client, but on different SIP-T33G device/extensions (and x1 at a different client/location).

Diagnostic files submitted to Yealink for investigation and feedback, will re-share on this post once an update has been received.

Same here have a failure recorded and diags sent to Yealink.

Hi guys

I received only 1 response on Tuesday, 07 May 2024 to check codecs and use the "PBX delivers Audio" option in the extensions (as if we haven't already followed these steps before re-testing).

I have since replied, but still awaiting a follow-up response from Yealink support. Hope you have better luck @lmichael

I am having the same issue with T33G, running 124.86.0.40. Have about 40 of them that randomly present this, and we are simply rebooting to resolve. Have they made the firmware public?

To be honest I have install firmware 124.86.0.159 and still having the same issue,

if your T33G's are still under warranty return them and swap them for T42s.

Is this something you can easily replicate of is it random and intermittent?

Yeah, install the 3cx recommended firmware, leave the handset a couple of days then start calling and start capturing pcap.

Hi 3CX support,

Regarding the last response above; Yealink's latest release of firmware for these devices has been released as at January 2024.

It is now July 2024

Kindly advise on the status of the developer testing? As we now have had an instance whereby one of the affected devices only had this issue occur again (but after 2 months).

Please advise?

Still having same isssue with the T33g, Got refurbished T42s, its the handset not 3cx
