Yealink T41S with Wifi Module not registering

I have a Yealink T41S that is equipped with a Yealink USB-Wifi module.

This phone cannot register with my 3CX instance.

- The phone has the required 3CX firmware installed (version 66.86.0.15), has been factory reset, and rebooted
- In 3CX I used the MAC address for the wifi Module
- For the phone to be able to connect to the network, I entered the wifi password directly on the phone.
- on a side note: SBC is up and running, other phones (although wired) work fine/register without issues.

- After that I power cycled the phone, just to be sure.

The phone does not register.

- I added the provisioning link directly into the phone, and rebooted

Same result.

3CX logs have following entry related to this phone/mac:
Provisioning file for MAC <wifi Mac address> of user yyyyy requested by <public IP> was successfully generated

So.. Suggestions are welcome..

3CX uses the ethernet interface to connect to the network and provision. In the template the ethernet is the active connection. You would need to modify your template for this to connect through WiFi after the provisioning.

@Nicloas: From your answer I more or less understand what's the root cause of my issue. It's not clear to me how to implement a solution: being a 3CX free user, I have no access to templates.
Can I provision the phone over a wired connection, and change that afterwards to wifi in the phone's web interface? (but what about the MAC address then?).

Or can I enter user/pass/other params manually?

If the phone is provisioned through 3CX, then any configuration you do through the phones interface will be overriden every 24 hours by the provisioning template.

You could manually configure a phone, but this would not be a good experience, because anything that depends on the provisioning, wont work. It would just be a dumb terminal at that point.

If there is infrastructure restrictions, it might be better getting a DECT device which is more suited to wireless connections, and just have your base station connected via ethernet.

For the specific use I have for this one phone it's not worth the investment I will try entering the necessary info manually.

Manual entry did the trick. I compared all settings with another phone that was provisioned over cabled ethernet, and all is functioning perfectly.
