This one is a bit of an odd one. We only have a couple clients that use yealink phones to begin with, however they called to report that the day after we did the V18 Update 5 updates whenever they call internally they are no longer seeing the Extension name and its showing the number. Is there some setting or something I can change in the template to correct this? We are using a custom template, so if the answer is copy the new template and it will correct it, then thats what I will do. :) I just wanted to ask before fiddling around in the event it was some bug or something.

Thanks.

I just ran a compare on the original and new templates and the only thing that is different is the Version, Time of the template. and LogoBitDepth (due to name change of template), as well as Interface Link

Whenever custom templates are involved, the first action should always be to factory reset, delete the phone from the extension, and add it back using the default templates.

Can you still replicate the issue after this is done?

- Ensure 3CX is updated
- Ensure the firmware is updated
- Always start with a factory reset phone

So, interestingly enough we did NOT use a custom template. I was under the assumption we did as always do for SNOM phones. We used the built in template.

So with that, is this then a bug? Is there something I should try?

I am pushing out firmware updates now. Hoping this doesnt break anything else. Last time it changed something on their phones and they werent super happy about it. haha

You will need to provide more info on this:

- What version were the phones running until now?
- How are they provisioned?
- Do their phonebooks populate or are they empty?
- Have you actually factory reset one and provisioned it with the default V18U5 template to compare against the others?

- Phones were at 28.83.0.50 - Some of them still are. The rest are currently on 28.83.0.130
- They are provisioned via SBC
- They do have their phonebooks
- I have not factory reset anything, but they have always used the original template. I did re-push the provision out.

You only wrote "Yealink T46" but based on your firmware version listed you are using T46G model phones. The current firmware for these phones can't talk to 3CX over HTTPS so it can't read the phonebook (or update its provisioning file). That's why only the numbers are showing and not the names because it can't match to the non-working phonebook. Yealink is supposed to come up with a newer firmware for the T46G phone (and some others) that will fix this. It was written in this forum that this should be available for v18 Update 6.

That is correct, they are T46G. They only have 1 or 2 S models. As far as I recall, I thought the only difference was the processor being able to handle OPUS. I guess there's a difference in firmware as well.

Thanks Johnathan! Appreciate the information on this.

Yes the S models have OPUS codec and also boot up 3 times faster than the G model. Otherwise very similar phones.

That said, even though the S model is discontinued, it still has the same major version release as the currently selling W and U models (x.86.x.x). The G models latest version is (x.83.x.x) so 3 major firmware releases out of date so you can see it hasn't been kept up to date. The pending G update likely will be an update to the 83 version to just include TLS updates to keep the phone functional longer.
