Hi

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the performance of this handset degrade in the past month or two.

The symptoms I notice:-

- BLFs not reflecting true status
- Display slow to update
- DSS Key taking a while to perform function (SP1)
- Slow to dial a number / register input

A restart of the device resolves this.

Im running firmware 96.87.0.16.

Ive had this phone over a year and it was never an issue.

We know the problem, also from various other phones from different manufacturers.
It usually comes down to the phone having experienced too much and storing too much: too many incoming/outgoing calls (the call log becomes very long, Speed Dial becomes problematic) and large contact lists or phone book.
Our pragmatic solution is: a factory reset of the phone. Upon restart, it retrieves all its data from the 3CX and the internally stored data is gone - which is a good thing.

Everything else requires more time searching through the logs and packet captures on the phone and the 3CX.

But the issue with the BLF and slow display updates could also have another cause: network problems. We no longer experience this because the phone networks of all our 3CX systems are carefully separated from all the other networks of the customers. Ultimately the phone networks aren't very large, so there's no need to further segment them (Silver Partner, you know ...).

New year , new targets , new networking problems ?
Token ring networks and BBS
Life was simpler when it was just the terminator missing on the cable.

Cat-o'-ten tails? What's this abomination, 5, 6 or 9, please. (OK, it is a telephony forum so I will let 1 and 3 for the greybeards and 4 just to fit with the token ring..), but 10 is right out!

I agree with you, it should only have 9 tails.
Well, the nine-tailed one has broken over the years. This one lasts a little bit longer, just because of that. :D
