New user to the cloud paid version provisioning my first phone.
I've followed the directions and read all of the posts but no luck.
I've also put the phone in a DMZ as well as in front of my firewall.

It's reaching the 3cx server and I can see the extension info in the phone's UI.
I've downloaded the Cpap file and reviewed it in Wireshark.
Attached is some of what that file says (I'll cut out my private info) in hopes someone can help.

Your phone is using an unsupported firmware version (SIP-T53W 96.86.25.3). The latest 3CX Supported version is 96.86.0.76. Ensure that you update the phone to the latest version from here and check again.

As a data point to anyone reading this, I did flash the phone to the correct firmware, but it would not take it. After a few hours and blog reads I saw that one way to fix it was to flash your phone with the latest Yealink firmware, then flash it to the correct 3cx firmware. When I did that, it took the updated firmware.

That said, It still will not register.
I have attached the log file.

Thank you.

Have you tried to provision the phone as router phone?

That’s what I was trying to do. I didn’t know there was another way other than a router phone.

Is this the only phone provisioned for the extension?

Yes. I have two phones (one t54w and a t53w) and attempting to provision each of them on separate extensions. I have tried one phone at a time starting over the process each time. Once on one phone, I got the 3cx logo to come up but it will would not provision. Since then each time I flash the 3cx firmware, nothing seems to happen. When I look at the activity in Wireshark, I don't see the phone trying to provision (flashing, rebooting, then waiting). When I got to Register link, line active is off. I can put the Auto provision in the URL and that does not help.

Thank you @SteveITS, that got me a bit further for sure. After flashing to .74, I can now see that the phone connects to the 3cx servers. The account propagates in the account field in the GUI and tries to register but fails. I can see the 3cx logo on the phone as well. That said, it's still failing. I'm not good at all at reading the PCAP file with Wireshark so hopefully, this will shed some light. I hate to post the whole PCAP file publicly.

I was troubleshooting at a site today with both Yealink T53 and T53W and I found a workaround. It seems to be a recent bug impacting provisioning and related to the phone having two MAC addresses due to the wifi adapter.

  1. Reset to factory or delete the saved WiFi password
  2. Provision the phone using the wired ethernet
  3. Once phone is completely up and working, disconnect ethernet and join WiFi. The phone remains registered and working.

Thank you!, this worked for me.
I also used a separate IP (a different network) from what my system was on.
Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience.
