So we just provisioned a client who was on firmware 97.48.0.85 which shows as "unsupported" in the portal so i went to update their firmware. upon doing this the phones have now gone into a reboot loop and the firmware hasnt actually updated. The phones shutdown, reboot then continue doing so none stop.

Is this the same issues as detailed in this thread?

Have these phones been bricked?

Hi,

FYI, The current 3CX supported Firmware is "96.86.0.23", okay. Is your phone connected to POE? If yes, just power up your phone without internet and try a factory reset. It may stop doing a reboot loop.

Thanks,
RA.

What i ended up doing with the client was having them (they're off site from us) unplug the phone from the network that has the 3CX instance on it and plug it into another router, the phone then powers up ok and we updated the firmware manually to 97.84.0.95 and the phones reconnected and stopped going through the boot loop.

I'm just going to leave them on this firmware.

Hi @mooseman

I'm glad to hear you recovered the phones! As per the mentioned thread, Yealink faced an issue with a previous V86 FW version but they have taken all the necessary steps to help people recover their phones and provided direct support for anyone still facing issues (you are also eligible).

Note that your devices are on a much older V84 firmware, so they would have failed regardless of the incident!
Please read what Yealink wrote carefully, and follow their instructions to get the update, and also to prevent the phones from getting stuck in the future if someone tries to upgrade them again.

Maybe I'm missing something here but the firmware version these phone are currently running on is 97.84.x.x

Not 96.84.x.x

I'm on newer firmware yeah?

That is a different version I'm afraid, and it is not the version supported by 3CX.

You want to be on 96.86.0.23 which is the latest officially interop-passed version between 3CX and Yealink.

Their instructions will help you update to that version, but in case you run into trouble you are also able to contact them directly as some forum members have already done. I would recommend to upgrade a single device first and familiarize yourself with the procedure.

Note: this is a one-off procedure, you should not have to do this again in the future. If new versions are released on your 3CX management console, you will be able to upgrade them the usual way.
