Gentlemen,

Don't really know if this is issue has any concern with 3CX, but maybe someone here had already experienced the situation described below:

Within last three months we have deployed several 3CX-powered PBX instances with Yealink T58A used as a primary SIP phone. However, last week one of the sites reported the following problem - all of a sudden some selected phones stop ringing. Everything works smooth and perfectly, but there's no ring during another inbound call. The workaround appears to be pretty easy (just power cycle the device), yet incredibly annoying, and worst of all, once it affected three phones within a day.

So could anyone share the same glitch experience?

3CX Version: Enterprise Annual 16.0.1078
Server OS: Debian 9 v16.0.655
Is the 3CX Server Hosted: no
IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware: Yealink T58A v58.85.0.5
Provisioning Method: SBC
Trunk Provider: Vitelity
Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO

Hi @Leo_B,

Can you describe what you mean by "there's no ring during another inbound call"? Is it that the phone rings but there is no audio? Is the SBC and phone's firmware both up to date?

This means the phone receives the call, starts ringing but no audio comes out of speaker. Talking of firmware, SBC runs Linux raspberrypi 5.4.51-v7l+ #1333, and the office SIP phones firmware version the one recommended by 3CX, v58.85.0.5.

Hi Leo,

Please be as specific as you can, don't hold back because there could be a number of scenarios here:

Examples:

1. First call rings in fine, call ends, next call comes in but ringer is silent while screen displays incoming calls

2. First call rings in fine, while still in call, next call comes in but ringer is silent while screen displays incoming calls

Tips:

- Ensure ringer volume is correct, it resets after a reboot anyway so that may be what appears to be "fixing it"

- Use the above descriptions as examples of how to describe the behavior

- Try to replicate it yourself if possible and if you can't, ask the users to replicate it while monitoring what they did exactly just to eliminate the chance this is a user error (the most common factor that gets overlooked)

I am having the same issue with T-58 and T56 phones. Also, the dial pad will work but the sound from pushing the buttons is hit or miss. In other words, about every third or fourth number hit will actually make a tone.

What you both describe sounds like a possible audio bug, but you will have to provide more details or some way we can replicate it here if you can.

Alternatively this should also be reported to Yealink directly.

Hello JohnS_3CX,

Appreciate your instructions! Well, I finally happened to run into 'ringing glitch' T58A first-hand directly on site. Looks like it follows scenario 1: a bunch of inbound calls rings in fine, and at some point the ringer comes silent while screen displays the call info. Noteworthy that ringer volume was set to some 75% as the ringing glitch was discovered.

Also, here's the extra details on problem: when you try to make an outbound call, there's only one dial tone coming from speaker, then it goes silent, too.

Hi Leo,

That's a well detailed description. My T58A does not do that, so I would recommend to report this directly to Yealink (or via your phones reseller).

Perhaps it is a hardware fault or there are more than 1 hardware revisions of this model (which is fairly common)

Just an interesting update from Yealink official forum (in fact the only response to my request posted there):

We have exactly the same problem with all our 50 devices T58 with firmware 58.85.0.5.
We did not have this problem with firmware 58.84.0.25.

After one year, Yealink, did not release any new firmware, maybe they try to get a new Android version like with "T58 Teams" variant ? This should be an excellent news.

We are having the exact same issues with all of our T58A phones that we have deployed. Has anyone found a permanent fix? At this point, we have been swapping the phones back to T48S or Fanvill's.
