Hello,

according to the update protocol of 3CX Client for Anroid it would at least be possible to call an existing contact from the Android phone book with the 3CX App. Unfortunately this does not work for me, 3CX is not a call option in the contacts.
What I'm actually interested in, what is much more important to our colleagues. The contacts from 3CX are not displayed in the local phonebook. With the iOS App this works. When driving a car on a business trip, calls via the "telephone network" are actually much more stable than via mobile Internet. However, it would be nice to be able to see the contacts of the 3CX via Android's local phone book (so you could also control this via your navigation device).
Is there a solution for this? The selection "3CX" already exists in the contact manager, but unfortunately it is empty.

What version of the app do you currently have installed? Check under Settings > About

when I went into this community for the first time, there was a thread that explained to me how to build your thread.
So hopefully you can have a look at my headline again and find the version of the app there
The system itself has the latest version. Version 16, Update 2, Build 16.0.2.910.

The solution you need is our beta app v16.0.0.47

So I would suggest to go to the Android Store, find the 3CX app page, and enter the beta which will give you access to this version. Remove the app and install again (which will give you the beta version). Or you can go to My Apps in the store, find the Beta tab that appears, and update from there.

If needed now, provision your client again using your welcome email or QR code. Once all permissions are granted and your extension registers, you can go to your Android contacts and open one of your contacts there. You should see an option for 3CX appearing, letting you call via 3CX app straight from your android contacts

I have done this now, one time with update and one time with new installation, the beta I have always received and could also register.

That wasn't necessary.

That's not what I asked for.

Please read the second paragraph of my description again. It is almost exactly the other way I want to go.
... Don't call local contacts via 3CX but call 3CX contacts via mobile network (GSM), just like I do with my local contacts. So it's like importing the contacts from 3CX into the phone book and then uninstalling the 3CX app because I don't want to use the app to call, but want to make a normal call with the smartphone using my mobile phone number.

As for the second and most important feature you asked for: I'm not sure how the PBX contacts eneded up in your iOS Device contacts. We do not actually publish/export the 3CX contacts to the iOS Device Contacts, and I suspect you must be getting them from somewhere else like perhaps Office 365 integration or they may have been imported into iOS somehow independent from our 3CX App.

Sorry, my mistake! Your description applies here fully and completely and everything works.

Again, I am sorry, that was wrong information from my colleague. I don't own an iPhone. He doesn't see the contacts in the local phone book, but sees the call history from the 3CX app in the local call list.


So I have to rephrase my question.
Is it planned that the contacts from the 3CX app can be exported to the local phonebook?

I don't know if we Germans are the only ones who have problems with comprehensive LTE, but it's really difficult to make VoIP calls in the car in Germany.

No problem Phil, indeed they appear in the recents that's how Apple handles their call kit API to make it easier for the user to redial using the appropriate app that made the call originally.

No currently we are not planning on exporting the contacts from the app. I imagine the one way to do this is to export your contacts from the PBX (Company Contacts I mean, not extensions) and then import them into your Android/iPhone via iCloud or iTunes or Google Account.

Consider it would pose a security risk however, as this would allow anyone using the 3CX system to very easily export company contacts and take them outside of your company so I don't think this will be added in the future.
