16.0.5: HT.801 shows up as new device but seems to be provisioned

We upgraded to 16.0.5.611 and just discovered a weird issue with our Grandstream HT.801 ATA (firmware 1.0.8.7)
it is configured as our fax extension 8800
it seems to be working (if I call that extension I do get a fax courier tone)
however in 3CX under phones it shows up as a New device in bold and never goes away.
I rebooted the device in the hope it might fix this but some thing
Activity log shows this during the reboot. which does show an unregistered event but as I said it seems to work :

I don't know how 3CX decides to remove those bold PnP entries but usually it does. If everything is working, click the X and call it a day.
