Hello everyone,

I just did a "yum update elastix" and "yum update elastix-*" and all seems to have gone well (except for some custom theme updates that got over-written), and received 2.3 RC1 (yes, I had beta updated enabled).

2.3 RC1 has been installed and everything appears to be working correctly.

However, I did notice that Asterisk is still at 1.8.7.0 and not updated to 1.8.10 as expected.

My question... with 2.3 RC1 installed, is it safe to do a "yum update asterisk"?
and will that update me to Asterisk 1.8.10?

Cheers

voipmuch,

Your logic is reasonably sound....

I haven't done it yet.....wait!! Just done it on one of the Elastix 2.2 systems....

yeah just perform the command as you mentioned to bring Asterisk up to the 1.8.10...Dahdi us already updated as part the yum update elastix command.

However, like always, you perform this on a production system, you put your life into your own hands...Make sure you have a backup....And while mine was successful, it is no guarantee your upgrade will be, especially as it is the Beta repository....1 day it might be safe, the next day it could have an updated component that kills your system.

Just a quick review, seems to be functioning ok (e.g. no blank pages, no big errors)...

Regards

Bob
