Hello guys ....i hope someone can shine some light ....i m trying to assign line keys so that customer can press LINE 1 key and make a call with specific CALLER ID NUMBER and NAME.Becasue they have two companies and wants to send out the caller id accordingly.Should i create two dummy extensions and give them NAME and Number as per the company. and assign those keys to extensions.?Thanks in advance :)

I don't think you can have line keys do that. You would probably be best off by using an outbound rule with dial prefix for one of the numbers.

Let calls without the prefix send the main number and make a rule to dial 9+number that strips the nine and sends the other number.

If you have a set with multiple line keys (and this is not a standard template), and each key is assigned a different extension, then you could create outbound rules that are restricted to each of these extensions. So, this mean duplicate rules, dealing with the same dialed number, but each with a different outbound caller ID assigned.

Each extension can also be assigned an outbound caller ID in the extension settings, and, as mentiontioned, you could use a different prefix (8 and 9?), for each outbound route.

So, several options.
