Hello,

We are developing a script to call and play an announcement to hotel room extensions in an emergency, montior and audit all calls (answered/not answered) and email a detailed report.
The rooms are connected to an IVR with the anouncement, through an async psRoot.MakeCall(IVR, room);loop for all the rooms in a C# script.

The script works for analog phones and VoIP phones.

We now want to have another variant to trigger intercom calls for intercom capable phones like the Fanvil H602.

Is there a way for MakeCall to add an intercom header?
Just adding *9 in front of the extension number is ignored by the 3CX engine.

We can try workarounds, like autoanswer or HTTP_GET commands, but the question is if there is a way to do it cleanly with SIP.

We already have another script using paging group but for this specific script, we require individual, sequential calls so we can track and audit the exact connection status of each room independently.

Thank you
Nikos

I'm a little surprised that the *9 is being ignored. That has not been my experience with a properly provisioned phone. However, I'll admit that I've not tried this with an analog phone. I don't know whether a configuration change on the analog gateway would make it possible?

We have a REST API for MakeCallPlayFile(extension, filepath). With our API, we call the phone, play a specified .wav file, and automatically hang up.

What about overhead paging? If you have a paging system or SIP speakers throughout the hotel, by definition they automatically auto-answer.

By the way, you may want to look at our 3CX Emergency Notifier tool.

1793203296337.png We handle monitoring for emergency calls made by guests and can send notifications by phone, email, SMS, and desktop popup with audible alarms, panic buttons, support for hotdesk phones, IP based location services, support for internal and external emergencies and much more (panic buttons will make it simple for an employee to push repeating alarms with a BLF).

You may be able to build your own solution, but ours has been in production for over a decade and we are constantly adding new features so if you have needs that our tool doesn't currently have, we are very open to improving our tool to better meet your needs.

If you would like to see it in action, you can book a one-on-one with me: https://booking.voiptools.com
