Hi All,

I've just installed V12.5 on a 2008 R2 server (6.1 SP1). With the Windows firewall turned on the 3cx farewell checker fails on ports 5060 and 5090. With the Win firewall turned off the firewall checker confirms that all ports are O.K.

I have looked the windows firewall configuration, and from what I can see all 3CX inbound connections are allowed.

Has anyone else had this problem, and what is the solution?

Thanks in advance.

Here are the dropped packet from the windows firewall log:
2015-05-21 09:45:56 DROP UDP 198.50.247.219 192.168.30.31 3479 5060 116 - - - - - - - RECEIVE
2015-05-21 09:45:57 DROP UDP 198.50.247.219 192.168.30.31 3479 5060 116 - - - - - - - RECEIVE
2015-05-21 09:45:58 DROP UDP 198.50.247.219 192.168.30.31 3479 5060 116 - - - - - - - RECEIVE
2015-05-21 09:46:01 DROP UDP 198.50.247.219 192.168.30.31 3479 5090 116 - - - - - - - RECEIVE
2015-05-21 09:46:02 DROP UDP 198.50.247.219 192.168.30.31 3479 5090 116 - - - - - - - RECEIVE
2015-05-21 09:46:03 DROP UDP 198.50.247.219 192.168.30.31 3479 5090 116 - - - - - - - RECEIVE

Did you create a firewall exception for UDP port 5060?

I would recommend turning of the windows firewall and using a hardware based firewall on the edge of the network. The windows firewall is nothing but a PITA

Hi Billy,

To be honest with you I didn't create an exception only because the process is supposed to be automatic.

I agree with your windows sentiments!

I'l just go ahead and make an exception.

Regards.

Ah, on my installs I always disable the firewall so I have never noticed that it is supposed to create the exceptions when you install 3cx.

On the contrary, I multi-home the PBX host on the LAN and on the WAN, default route is WAN, static routes to LAN, and do use Windows Firewall to config what I want open on the WAN.
