302 Call Deflection

Hi Guys,

i've come across the "Call Deflection" option in the forwarding rules and just wanted to know more about what it does.

The benefits of call deflection is that the caller ID is retained is that correct?

Does it also mean my SIP provider makes the call to the destination freeing up 3CX instead of going via 3CX?

As far as I'm aware, the forwarded call will still use two trunks, one in and one out. Some providers will not correctly pass on a caller ID that is not a number registered to you, by them. This is a way, in some cases, of making that work.
