Hi all,

Hoping you can give me some assistance here please as I would like some help integrating 3CX with Voipfone.

I've read the following articles: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/is-anyone-able-to-get-voipfone-co-uk-to-work-with-3cx.17207/ and https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/voipfone-phone-numbers.58424/ but I think the GUI must have been updated since and I can not find out how to set this up.

Presumably I'd need to go to SIP Trunks > Add Sip Trunk but then when I drill down to UK, there is no longer the option to add a generic provider.

Secondly, I have two numbers with Voipfone; the first being 01xxx which was purchased as an additional number and then the second was their free number which is 05xxx. Can you please advise, what information do I need to put into 3CX in order to get this to work?

If you are putting in as a Generic Trunk, I suspect it isn't under a specific country, as the country will have no bearing. As far as two numbers...it all depends. Is this a DID service, in other words, does the provider send the number dialled along with the call (and caller ID)? If they do, then you can create DID rules to send each of the numbers to a different destination. If they do not send DID info, then calls to both numbers will end up at the same destination in 3CX. That could be an IVR, to allow the caller to choose to be routed to a certain department, or extension.

In "Add a trunk" you still have any counry and then around the G you'll find Generic Trunks ! :)

Thanks for the reply and sorry for my late response.

I have found how to add the Voipfone SIP and I can confirm this is under the generic section.

Thanks also for your information about DID - I think I understand what you are saying but not fully. When you say does the provider send the number dialled, how would I find this out as surely there are hundreds of providers out there and each might have a different protocol.

On the assumption they don't send DID, how would this be best set up, please?

Usually, when applying for VoIP service, the inclusion of DID "service" will be mentioned. If you subscribe to a "few" numbers, then you may have the service. You'd have to confirm with your provider to be sure, it may save you some time. If they do not supply DIDs, then sending all callers to a Digital Receptionist (IVR) will allow caller to dial extensions directly, or select an "option" to direct them to a department.

You're welcome @Lusk :)
