hello all,

on new installation of 3cx server, 3CX offers its own account for push notification,
but that doc suggests to implement our own : https://www.3cx.com/docs/

what is the best practices used own or 3cx included on a new installation?

thank you,

Umm I'm not sure how one could be confused by that wording but just in case, in the management console it says this:

Google Firebase PUSH messages wake up 3CX Apps on Android so that a call can be accepted, reducing battery usage and improving reliability. Android phones receive PUSH notifications from Firebase Cloud Messaging Server.
Google PUSH is pre-configured using a common test account. It is highly recommended to create your own Google Firebase Project via the Firebase Cloud Console. Click here

I will take this as "I need to". why in that case offering a default 3cx account, just confusing for me.

thank you @cobaltit .

Hi,

It's not strictly necessary, but if you do so you can have access to other features that the google cloud offers, for example you could check the push history and ensure the message was delivered.

oh, interesting, I see what you mean, thank you,

it's like the "email delivery" feature, you (3cx) offers as default your smtp server but we can put ours.

Glad to help!
