I have a user who cannot register through the 3CX app using the barcode.

Specs:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4
Running on Android 13
3CX server version 18 Update 6

Have tried the following:
1) Register extension on iOS (works)
2) Register on another android phone (works)

What could be the issue?
Thanks.

Have resolved.
For some reason the QR code for the user doesn't work.
Only the admin's QR code works.

Scan the users QR code with a barcode app (which will decode the text of the qr code), then scan the admins - are they different? If so, how are they different?

Sorry, I was just giving the OP some ideas on what to check if the user level QR code doesn't work but the admin level one does. I don't have this issue.

hi,

the difference is only in the 3CX server name. one is the name, one is showing the internal IP address. Do note however the phone was being registered in the office so the internal IP address should not have any issues as well.

sorry another difference is the http and https. the one with the IP does not have https

The one that works is the HTTPS one?

Certainly things, like SSO, don't work on http. I wouldn't be surprised to learn the ip one (that's http) won't work with mobile app.

To get the users QR code to work visit the webclient using the https://name (not IP) and the QR code will be generated with https://name.

It's weird because the admin and user login should be generating the same code, right? My vendor has already reported this to 3CX as a bug.

It's 100% dependent on the URL you use to login with. The QR code is generated on the fly so if you login with http://ip it will be that in the qr code if you login as https://name it will be that in the code.
