Hi Members,

We have an issue with the backup of 3CX to FTP using filezilla.
When the backup is being created the file is stored on a Fileshare on a Fileserver, all permissions for Filezilla are correct on this Fileshare.

It saves the Temporary file to the desired location but after the transfer it cannot rename the file. (see error message underneath)
If we change the backup location to a different location, in this case a laptop with an SSD the transfer and renaming the backup file succeeds.
This has then the same settings in Filezilla on the Fileserver as on the Filezilla client on the Notebook.

Anybody got some options?

Version: 3CX enterprise annual, 16.0.8.9

YYour 3CX backup failed due to the following reason(s):

FluentFTP.FtpCommandException: Internal error renaming the file

at FluentFTP.FtpClient.Rename(String path, String dest)

at _3cxFilesystemImplementations.FTP.FtpFilesystem.Move(String filename1, String filename2)

at BackupRestoreSchedule.BackupJob.Execute(IJobExecutionContext context)

As a test, could you try accessing the FTP server and manually delete the .tmp file, then, try the backup again?

If you get the same behavior, I'd recommend making sure you have set this up as per our guide: https://www.3cx.com/docs/ftp-server-pbx-backups-windows/

Maybe consider setting it up from scratch if unsure.

Deleting TMP file has same result, weirdest thing is, is that we have multiple PBX instances for other countries and they also run on this same filezilla client and they do not fail.
Also, we have setup Filezilla from scratch with the Guide provided in the link you've mentioned.

Only difference is that the other PBX instances have smaller backups (Like 500 MB) and the one i have issues with has a backup of approx 5GB. And if we uncheck some options from the backup the backup also succeeds, but we would like to have everything enabled.

Is there any chance the specific backup overlaps with a second or third backup from another PBX? Could you temporarily disable all other backup tasks and only have this one PBX perform it to see if that makes a difference?

Also already tried that, it was on 3:00AM midnight, now its on 22:00PM in the evening.
You want me to still cancel all backups for tonight instead of one having issues?

Ideally yes as it would at least allow us to eliminate this possibility with certainty.
