yah, it's weird. on the portal page for certs, it shows when i passed; but doesn't say if it expires. i mean, i'm cool either way. just curious.

Technically, no, but 3CX will expire them at some point.

Any tips for the advanced test, sitting it for the 3rd time now got 22/30 last time I sat it?

The certification is "open book" so you can any resources available to you at the time of taking the certifcation.
Have your NFR key set up and ready, the 3CX website and the training modules themselves all at hand.
Most importantly however, read the questions thoroughly as what appears to be the obvious answer, may not be so.

Kindly note that 3CX advises all partners to recertify on a regular basis.
However, for the convenience of the partners, we do not expire the certifications on a yearly basis.
Soon a new certification program will be introduced, so stay tuned

Please note that a reset is not available in the partner portal.
As advised a new certification program is in a process to be implemented. Once this is done, existing certifications will be reset.

That's a bit silly, why not just offer refresher courses, in particular on new features that have been added from time to time.

Yeah. I'm waiting to a new certification program for like 2 months. I will definetly wait a little more... With no release date

One of our staff was able to take the v18 Advanced certification last week. I would check again.
