Hello,
I asked the same question on the DE-Forum, but no response yet. I am trying my luck here.
We are using DATEV-Software, and also the DATEV-Integration, so that we are able to call directly from within the software.
Currently we have desktop-phones and 3CX client app on terminal server. The specialty in our configuration: our servers are not in-house (VPN). So there is no possibility to transfer voice between the server and the user, that would kill the tunnel, besides it's not allowed by our hosting company.
To my knowledge, as we bought 3CX years ago, we had to take desktop phones, so that the DATEV integration works - so that the calling from the software works.
However, we would like to change that: we don't want desktop phones any more. We would like to use USB/Bluetooth headset only.
In that case we would have to install 3CX locally on our workstations, and set it to softphone, that is my understanding.
Current functionality is like this:
Users Extension and Phone are bound together in 3CX console, Terminal Server has the client installed which is set to Desktop-Phone/CTI. That way our desktop phones call automatically, when we click the number in the software.
If I would want to remove the phone, I would have to install 3CX client on each workstation, and set it as softphone.
But - can I somehow "bind" that softphone to the client on the terminal server - so basically that the workstation-softphone acts as a desktop-phone? Otherwise the integration doesn't work...
Thanks
