Hi,

I have the following issue.

Every now and then (every three weeks) my server (3cx free) gets the "Server Error" warning on the management console.
Only thing i can do is a reboot after which it gives me the message to run FSCK manually on the disk 3CX is running on.

Upon doing so it shows a lot of corrupted files and sectors but always manages to repair them!

Is this a known issue?

You shouldn't power cycle your server. You should try restarting the 3CX services from the console and, if this doesn't work, you should perform a graceful shutdown / reboot or you risk damaging the file system.

I find the most common cause of the random "Server Error" warning is the system being starved of memory.

The problem is that 8/10 times the console (ssh or directly) wont even logon, the times that it did work the amount of ram available is enough for the system to keep running.

I highly doubt this is a 3CX issue, more likely a system one. I think it occurs when there is no disk space available. In your case the disk might be damaged even. Can you confirm that you have sufficient disk space available?

Is this a VM?

Hi

SSH in to your system and check for updates

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

sorry for the late answer!

Yes its a VM within Citrix Xencenter.
I already updated the machine itself but it keeps happening

I started to add them to my monitoring software and monitor the processes themselves in hopes of seeing exactly when this happens so i can fish around the logs to see what caused this
