Hello ,

Currently we are planing a 3CX system with 2 cloud instances on Amazon. The connection from the cloud to the local network is through VPN connection. What is the best solution in order to work ? We don't want to provision the extension through the FQDN and go public but with the private vpn network.

A local split dns will work in that situation ? and with the help of a script in the passive to change the local ip of the active to the passive and make the registration of the extensions ?

Hello @Yiannos Ioannou

Even if the phones are local you will need to provision them using an FQDN so the phones are able to auto switch to the secondary server automatically if failover is triggered. The best way to do this is be installing the system with a public and a local FQDN. You should be able to manage the local FQDN so you are able to change the IP it is pointing with a script when failover is triggered.
