Hi all,

We experienced a lot of issues with the built-in Fax2eMail service. -
Typical case a inbound call on associated "Fax-DID" (assigned to Ext. 888) results in a ring (somewhere) and call termination be the Catch-all rule (...)

Calling 888 from internal ext. reach the fax server correctly (...)

Seems to be a bug ?!
Any feedbacks welcome

I've never had issues with 3CX FAX, only when using it with ATAs and gateways remotely - 3CX FAX server only works reliably locally or locally routed subnet.

You aren't using another device for FAX so should be Ok, just wanted to let you know what my experiences have been.

Do you have a specific route to the FAX extension in your inbound routes? You need to route every DID or all these calls go to whatever the default for the trunk is. Which sounds like what it is doing... :D

@sean: no specifid rules set just standadard (9-to-5)

1) Go to SIP Trunks > Trunk Name > DIDs > +Add DID (make sure the FAX DID is on the trunk) Click OK.

2) Inbound Routes > Add DID Route > Select the DID > Change Name > Change Destination to "Send Fax to" and select the extension of the FAX. Fill out anything else you want (like office times, etc) OK on that.

Should work automatically from that moment. Simply adding the DID to the extension is never enough, all that does is populate data for "OutsideCallerID" when you select "From:Extension" in the outbound rules of the trunk.

@sean: thanks a lot for for your explanation.
After deeper investigation we we found out that the SIP provider might have issues.
Actually the clarifications are going on.

Thanks

As in they do not support T.38 FAX ? some do not and it needs checking.

They do support T.38 - but it's always very tricky with 3CX . . .
