Hello community,

I´ve got a very strange behavior with downgraded system owner users.
I´m managing about 15 3CX Instances in our company, both, hosted and on-prem. Two of them are 3CX Free Instances.
Last week I had to change some outbound settings, so I logged in.
After clicking the Admin icon i wondered about the missing options. So I checked the users and was shocked. My System Owner was no longer SystemOwner.
The User was now just an Owner.
FIrts of all i thougt my customer changed this accidentally.
But in this Instance is only one system owner. As far as I know, there ist no way to change the rights of the looged-in user itself.

I checked my other Instances, but all of them were ok , but one additional 3CX Free Instance had the same problem. This Instance was´t in use for almost a year.

Both Instances were created as V20. None of them was upgraded.

Anyone an idea? Actually I´m locked out. I´m considering about just to create a new Instance.

Thank you for yur Help

Richard

Two Standard Annual 4SC (formerly free) here, both on-prem, one upgraded from v18 and one new installed, both have a regular system owner. No problem.

Do you have a actual backup? Look in there for the system owner - if there is one and who.

Is this the 3CX hosted Free version? Owner is the highest available AFAIK because higher levels could administer other departments/companies on the shared server.

Yes It´s a free version. I am the administrator. The extension which I use was a functionally System Owner until this problem startedt.
I´ve created the other users, the sip trunk and so on.
Everything was fine. My last login with full rigths was about 3 weeks ago.
I have a backup, but I can´t manage backups as owner....

Edit:
Is it a 3CX hosted free, a SMB free, really?

Or is it a formerly 3CX free on-prem, now a Standard?

I don't see how unless there was a serious misconfiguration. You were able to see other tenants on the server? I'd imagine there would be dozens...

And yes in Free there is not access to backups since that would again be for all customers/tenants. 3CX controls the backups. I'd maybe double check the XML file to verify that's actually for your ###.3cx.cloud hostname.
