Hello Community

I have the following challenge.
I have downloaded and installed 3CXSoftphone (3CX.msix) from the MS Store.
This then creates an icon which works when we click on it.

But now we want to install the software via a software distribution. The installation as such works, but calling up the application no longer does. We create our own application icon via this software distribution application, which we make available to the users. To do this, we need to specify the path and exe of the application.

The application was installed under C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\3CXDMCC.3CX_20.0.494.0_x64__97f1hnz6y6tba. However, the directory is very restricted in terms of authorisations. As a test, I have increased the authorisations there so that users have sufficient rights. A 3CXSoftphone.exe file is also visible there. If you click on this file, nothing happens. The application is not started although the 3CXSoftphone.exe process is visible in the Task Manager. If you start the application again via the exe file, another process is started but the application is still not visible.

What should be done so that 3CXSoftphone starts via the software distribution application? Are parameters necessary? How should the directory authorisations be set? Please provide the relevant information

If you use software management you can use this file or if microsoft store is avaiable on your pcs you can use this. depends how your software distribution works.

Unfortunately, the new package does not fix the problem. When I click on 3CXSoftphone.exe, the application does not start

I dont know your software management... its working just fine here

Well I started the software manually as user. I tried to start it also as administrator, but nothing changed

Can you send me the correct path where you start the application and what are the rights of the application path?

You should not be playing with icons and permissions and things like that for an MSStore app. That's literally why they went this way, to prevent users from messing with the app.

What you're trying to do is clearly not supported. C'mon, changing the icon of an app? That's not a good idea.

The only way to distribute the app is using the MSIX via Intune or GPO.

I was able to solve the problem.
It seem that Microsoft has rebuilded the wheel.... ;-)

The command line to start the application that is downloaded from the Microsoft store is following

explorer.exe shell:appsFolder\3CXDMCC.3CX_97f1hnz6y6tba!app
