Hi,

We have 3cx installed in our office with PRI lines configured with Patton gateway. Everything works fine in this office. We have SIP lines installed in a remote location terminated on Grandstream UCM 6204. Site to site VPN has been configured and is able to access the grandstream UCM on the remote location. I need the SIP lines in the remote location to be configured in 3cx.
Can someone help with a work around

Regards,

Vineeth Mohan

I'll be perfectly honest here. We never got it to work correctly, either via SIP trunks or bridges. Calling usually works but routing is a PITA and Caller ID NEVER works.

The UCM isn't made for this. It is not a gateway or a SBC. It is a PBX.

But then, if those are SIP lines, why the heck are you trying to use the UCM? Just set the trunk in 3CX directly.

Otherwise, no one here can help any further since we all gave up when trying to do this. It's not worth the time and efforts.
@Frederick Marcoux
How do I setup SIP lines directly to 3cx. As told earlier sip lines are there in remote location. Where do i terminte the SIP lines in the remote location. SIP lines are provided from local service provider. and I had been provided details like WAN IP , router IP, SIP server IP

Did the provider give you a local box located at the remote site which you need to connect to?

So how are the SIP lines linked to the remote location? SIP lines can generally be accessed through the internet from any location if not tied down to a specific IP or provider hardware.
Can you help us understand what the provider as given you so we can understand the configuration?

@YiannisH_3CX They have provided me a WAN connection which needs to be terminted on a PBX or gateway.
The device installed in the location is customer router from the provider.

That makes sense. Is there a way to contact the provider and tell them to move the modem to the site where the 3CX is? That would simplify things a lot and make it much easier to add the trunks to 3CX just by adding a second NIC on 3CX.

not possible as these are in two different countries

If that is the case then I doubt you will be able to make it work. You may be able to add them using a VPN connection directly but that is not a good solution. I would recommend getting SIP Trunks from a provider which can provide connectivity through the internet so you can add the lines directly to 3CX. From our side there is not much we can do.

I had created a bridge between 3cx and grandstream and is UP with prefix 7. I created an outbound rule in 3cx with prefix and trunk as the bridge created. This should take things upto grandstream.
In the grandstream i created the bridge with VOIP trunk register SIP option with the Bridge ID & password. As told earlier the bridge is UP. another sip trunk has been created for the sip service provider. I created an outbound route with a pattern which which use the providers sip trunk to call outside.
But I tried calling from 3cx extension using prefix 7. I receive an error not found.
Is there something i am missing. Could you offer any help

Thanks in advance
Could you please help me to setup a bridge between grandstream UCM and 3cx. I have been trying to set 3cx as master and on UCM as register trunk

@sahaldealer If you have the same scenario the best working solution i got is to create a SIP trunk in 3cx and peer sip in grandstream. I got it working except the caller id....

We have not tested this scenario so we cannot provider any assistance on this matter. Perhaps @Vineeth Mohan can share his settings with you in a DM.

@sahaldealer I tried the same and couldnt get it work. Thats why i suggested the above solution

Could you explain how to do it. I don't get how to set a sip trunk on 3cx
@sahaldealer Go to SIP trunks in 3cx. Click Add SIP trunk. Select country as Generic , Provider as Generic SIP trunk. Enter the Main trunk number. Add Registrar/Server/Gateway Hostname or IP as the UCM IP address. and leave rest of the configure as default.

@Vineeth Mohan and on the ucm i will configure as peer sip with host name as 3cx FQDN?

@sahaldealer host name can be 3cx local ip. and enable hearbeat detection in the advanced section.
Hope you have a site to site vpn between the locations and able to ping the devices.
