Hello Everyone
First of all thanks for stopping by and helping on this.
Quick question
Is the WAN IP for 3cx hosted instance is same for recoding back up ? i mean the dashboard has the WAN IP for 3cx pbx instance hosted by 3cx. But lets say you setup CALL RECORDING to be archived on to a NAS in the wild and for security reason lets say you define the SOURCE ip of the pbx , would it work ? or is it different ip when the recordings are scheduled to be pushed lets say every day/week month.?

Not entirely sure what youre trying to do or how youre trying to set it up.

What method are you using to backup to a "nas in the wild"

you would just need to set up to FTP to your NAS and off you go.

Yes, just restrict access to the 3cx wan ip address or 3cx fqdn.

Each instance of 3cx is it's own virtual machine , and the voice recordings are stored on the 3cx virtual machine

Just to clarify, it's as @Saqqara says, allowing the PBX's IP should be fine as each PBX is indeed it's own VM and have their own. When recordings archiving occurs, the PBX will contact the remote archiving location directly.

Thank you so much everyone for clarifying this . I now have to drill down deeper , check my credentials for NAS access and NAT rules etc. Will get back.
