So I had email working using the 3CX default SMTP server, and email was going to my email account fine, but then we migrated to Gmail.

I recently checked my inbox and it looks as if post-migration all email has been silently dropped. I can't see any sign of errors being logged (though perhaps the errors were sent via email) but when I changed it to use an ISP SMTP server the messages started getting through again. I've looked in Gmail spam to no avail. If I want to use Gmail SMTP I need to lower security settings, not sure about that.

Is it possible that Gmail is filtering/blackholeing the 3CX smtp service?

I receive emails on my gmail account so I don't believe Google is blocking them.

Are you using Gmail for SMTP or the 3cx service?

If you stay with 3CX SMTP are the mails going to Gmail?

I just tried the "test" button for both options, "3CX SMTP" and "Custom". The 3CX SMTP test message never arrived, the Custom SMTP message I'd say arrived less than a second later.

So I'm guessing what happened is it bounced or something during the transition and now it's blacklisted which will take a week to clear. Try making an alias to your mailbox and using that and I bet it will work.

OK so I just added +3cx to my address and it got through
