Hi,

I am new to 3cx, but i have some experience with SIP, asterisk and networking overall...I am seeing some very weird behavior form the 3cx system.

I had it connected to a sip trunk that we manage (freeswitch) for over a month everything was working fine. After a router restart 3cx no longer wanted to register the trunk and when i looked into the logs i noticed that 3cx is not responding to the 401 with the auth header... is just repeating the register request and getting 401 Unauthorized.

I restarted everything... and i see the exact same response. I connected to the same server/username&password from 3 different systems with absolutely no issues. I even turned off the 3cx server, change my local pc IP to match the 3cx system (this way i can rule out any potential NAT-ing), connected using microsip just fine. I also tried connecting directly to the external ip (not DNS) and it fails the exact same way.

I attached some pcaps from both 3cx and freeswitch and both are showing the same info... i ran out of ideas... also there was a different forum post with a very similar description and apparently that was fixed on the trunk hosting server (not specifiying exactly what caused it... just saying there were 2 bugs), but i see nothing wrong with this trunk especially when i can connect with any other clients.

Unfortunately 3cx support will not assist as this is not an official trunk, thus any other assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Found the issue... just in case anyone else is trying to figure something similar out... make sure you check the IP blacklist.... in my case the system banned that IP for "too many attempts"

The only thing that doesn't really make sense is the 3cx system should block the outgoing traffic too... as it only ignored incoming traffic (not even blocked), it made me think its a NAT-ing issue...
