Did I read in passing the other day that 3CX was going to come out in a Linux based version??? OR was I just wishful reading?

If it is, when?

If not, please knock me off my perch.

[knock off perch] ;-)

Or google: "3cx on linux rumors"

not on snopes.com yet. ;-)

Thanks....

Never mind.

An update -- it appears 3CX "has seen the light", and is preparing to come out with a Linux-based version.

I just found an advertisement -- on DistroWatch.com, a Linux/BSD-distribution news site -- for 3CX. In fact, the advertisement itself states "Linux edition coming soon". No date listed, no timeline yet, but it's certainly better news than 'no'.

For additional visual evidence, I have taken a screenshot [below]:

The 3CX image in the ad linked directly to the 3cx.com website, no 3rd-party site.
This was seen, and the screen-capture taken, around 12:45am EDT, May 12, 2011.

I thought this was interesting, and definitely thought I should share it. Thumbs up 3CX, bring on the Linux! :p

Wishful thinking on someone's part, I would think. Until it's actually posted on the 3CX website it's all rumours.

I hope it is not a hoax and do hope that a version does come out, and soon.... There certainly seems to be some weight behind the wish.

Until then I shall have to continue using mine within a VM on my Ubuntu PC.... Works perfectly well, just its more stuff to maintain and Windows is not as good an OS as Linux.

Keep us posted.

As I said in the other thread about this, not sure who did that advertisement but no 3CX has no plans now or in the future of developing 3CX Phone System for Linux.
