PBX & SBC OS: Debian 10 Buster
Current 3CX Version: 18.0 Update 9 Build 20

So, my 3CX PBX and my SBCs are all running Debian 10 Buster. I'm running 3CX version 18.0 Update 9 Build 20 right now. I see that the new upgrade to v20 forces an upgrade from Debian 10 to 12 Bookworm. I'm testing an ARMHF architecture install of Debian 12 Bookworm on one of my SBC's running Armbian. The SBC install script seems to not want to run, and it just freezes up. I'm trying to figure out if there are some new REPOS that I need to load up with the ARMHF architecture that would make it all work.

Do you know if Debian 10 SBCs which are functional now will be functional with a v20 3CX upgrade on a Debian 12 OS? I have never had this much problem getting an SBC to work as I do right now. If I upgrade my PBX, I fear that the SBC's will not be functional if they try to update also.

My SBC's have always been running Armbian OS Debian 10 Buster on a ODROID XU4 devices, and I have never had any issues.

Does anyone have any info that they could share on this? I have not upgraded yet to V20 because I was afraid my SBCs would all be rendered useless.

Also, the 3CX Forums does not choose my system to POST in the correct forums category, so I had to post here. It let me choose my system in this category.

Hi there.
So SBC OS should be Debian 10, however, we have never tested Armbian but only Raspbian for the SBC.
For the Phonesystem we have an ISO for Debian 12 but that's for amd64 architecture, and not ARM CPUs.

So, Armbian Debian 10 works really well on my SBCs on Odroid XU4. I just assumed since the PBX was forcing Debian 12 upgrade that the SBC would too. That's good that the SBCs do not have to have Debian 12.

What is the current version of the Debian 10 SBC 3CX app? WIll it only upgrade itself once the PBX pushes down the update?

When I ran the SBC install script on the existing spare Debian 10 SBC, it told me that it was already updated to the latest version. Keep in mind, I have not upgraded my PBX yet.

Will that install script allow an update once the PBX is upgraded?

Thanks for your help!

The 3cx SBC for version 20 is still the same as it is for v18. We have to release an updated version of the SBC.

However, we can only highly recommend using a tested and supported platform for both the SBC and 3cx systems. There are no guarantees that an update will work in your current architecture. As my colleague has stated, neither the 3cx system nor the SBC have ever been tested and are not supported on Armbian.

Okay. I'm wondering if I should just setup a test server on V20 to see if there are any issues right now. I can always make adjustments later.

If you do release a new SBC, the old SBC will continue to work until I upgrade them, right?
Does 3CX automatically update the SBC's, or will I have to press the update button to update them from the GUI?

In the past, one updates the SBC manually from the SIP trunk tab via the Update button, and it shows an available update. It's just been a while since there has been an SBC update, I'd guess a couple years.

In Version 20, Voice & Chat show up the SBC's. There's not much options as there used to be, will there be updates for SBC through this page going forward?

If you refer to the statistics etc, for now these options are not there.
