Hi,

upon checking, I've noticed that the Database Server service has stopped.

The other services are running without any issues.

Please advise on this.

Regards.

Have you tried the following

1. Start the service
2. Reboot the 3cx server

What operating system - windows or debian

Yes, we have tried to start the service and reboot the system.

It is debian

Thank you

First thing I'd recommend you check is system resources and specifically if any are running low:

1. Make sure you have enough available memory with:

2. Disk space:

3. CPU usage:

4. If all is ok, run the following commands in sequence:
sudo 3CXStopServices
sudo service postgresql stop
sudo service postgresql start
service 3CXCfgServ01 start
service 3CXSystemService01 start
service 3CXPhoneSystemMC01 start
service 3CXMediaServer start
service 3CXAudioProvider01 start
service 3CXEventNotificationManager start
service 3CXPhoneSystem01 start

If all start, access the Management Console go to services and start the rest from there.

If not and the postgresql service does not start, you can take a quick look at the syslog in /var/log to see if there any additional information as to why it failed but to be honest, if it's the database that's not starting there's a good chance you'll spend more time troubleshooting than just using a backup to restore 3CX on a new machine.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

I have checked the memory, disc safe, CPU usage all are in a good state.

Also, I have checked the service status all the services are running without any issue.

May I know is there any other way to check the issue?

Other than checking the syslog not much. Our Support team could potentially investigate further should you open a support case via a 3CX Partner, however, this provided that the 3CX PBX is a fully 3CX Supported configuration, meaning it was deployed as per our guides and is running the latest version of 3CX.

What's the spec of the PBX? VM / cloud or bare metal?

Hi,

May I know what should we need to check in the system log? Could you please provide the steps to check the same from our end?

Looking forward to your reply.

Regards

Hi @perez.koh,

The syslog is accessible from any debian machine via the Management Console >> Dashboard >> Activity Log >> Logs >> Linux Syslog. As my colleague mentioned, you may want to contact a 3CX Partner in troubleshooting as they have experience when dealing with these sorts of issues.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

Upon checking I could see that there are some more folders in the Syslog.

May I know what are things that we need to check in the Syslog?

please advise on this.

Looking forward to your reply.

Regards

Hi @perez.koh,

May I know what are things that we need to check in the Syslog?
I'm afraid that you'll need to look for clues to tell us why the database server stopped. Browse through the syslog files and see what they tell you about events leading up to the database server stopping and maybe a reason as to why.

Hi,

I have checked the logs but couldn't find any details regarding the issue, I have added the logs here

https://pastebin.com/sVL8pNSS

I have tried to start the service and monitored the log, but nothing found

Could this be a bug in the system?

Thank you

@perez.koh
As mentioned earlier, if the cause of the issue is not obvious and you wish to look into this further, we'd recommend reaching to a 3CX Partner to have them help you or even submit a 3CX Support Ticket on your behalf.

If what you want to do is bring the PBX back to an operational state asap, what I would recommend you do is simply redeploy the OS using our ISO, install 3CX and restore your current configuring a 3CX Backup.
